Happy Sunday! I have some good news. Or perhaps it’s mostly good news to me and maybe to some of you who remember, so it could just be considered general “news”.
I’m bringing my Sunday Coffee series back.
It was something I used to write a long time ago when I started to get into blogging on my old website, Flat Eleven (we lived in Flat 11 in our place in Edinburgh). I thought the name was very Refinery29 meets Apartment Therapy. It was not. But I was not Kelly Prince-Wright at the time, so Kelly Prince Writes wouldn’t have happened.
Rambling aside, the Sunday coffee post was a chance for me to reflect on my week and fill you in on what I’d been up to and where I’d been. It was everything that I’d done but maybe wasn’t going to write up a full blog post about. It’s all the little parts of the week that made it good, great or mediocre.
And today I’m announcing it’s official return back onto the website. Welcome to your Sunday coffee. For now, I’m working on it under the premise of sharing a bit about my week, but I think as time goes on and I get back into my blogging routine I’d like to make it more of a lifestyle newsletter post. Picking out weekly themes and topics to discuss, having guest writers pop in and sharing some of my weekly favourites with you all.
But that’s for another day… let’s recap on the week, shall we?
The week started off a little bit low, I had wanted to write this blog post to go live last week but last Sunday I wasn’t feeling particularly inspired to write anything. It’s the ongoing saga of my life, where inspiration strikes inconveniently and not on the days I want it too. Luckily for me, this Sunday I’m feeling it again.
Embraced my emotions
So officially, my week properly started in London on Monday where I cried for the first time ever on the train and in a very, very public space. Sometimes train guards can be quite nasty, and while typically, I wouldn’t bat an eyelid over the encounter… it was one of those days where you just know you’re going to cry. I felt on edge all morning and felt instantly overwhelmed by the negativity. It really ate away at me on Monday and I was lucky to have my friend Allie to meet with when I got there.
Tried something new
I did my first ever 1Rebel spin class which totally rocked my world. I signed up for Class Pass this week, so hopefully on some of the days that I’m in London I can swing by a spin or workout class. It’s ridiculously ambitious of me, but I’m kind of here for it.
Over on Instagram
With the help of Joe, I started shooting for my Valentine’s Day content for ~Instagram~. I came up with the idea for a two week theme, Film & TV couples we love to love, following the success of all my Christmas recreations. It’s been so fun working on them and I can’t wait for you to see them all. Two have gone live so far, so check them out!
Working on healthy habits… sort of
I finished week three of Whole30 and may have had a little slip up! So sue me, last night I had wine for the first time in three weeks…. On day 21. I was meant to make it to 30 days total but our flat has been flooding all weekend and there’s nothing anyone can do to help fix it until next week, so I turned to my vices. I’m not even a little bit sorry either!
And last but not least, a few pieces I’ve snapped up this week. Someday I will decide to save money, but today is not that day.
Lots of love,
Kelly xx
How have you found doing Whole30? I’ve been intrigued, I think it’d be a good way of resetting my body lol but it looks … so difficult !
