I’ve been wanting to head into Flat Iron for awhile now.
It’s a cozy little restaurant situated in Soho. And they don’t do reservations so you’ve got to be on your toes about getting a table.
But we happened to be in Soho the other afternoon and raindrops were starting to fall… So why not? After all, a little pick me up late lunch never hurt anybody.
About four to five tables make up the main dining room, with picnic table-like seating. It’s exclusive. Even with upstairs seating, trying to get a table at night is difficult ordeal.
It’s a bit dreamy really. The rustic interior mixes well with the usual Soho vibe.
And the menu is posted up on the wall at the end of each table, which I think is clever decorating.
Plus I love a simple menu. And Flat Iron is as simple as it comes with one main on the menu: Steak.
Did I mention that it’s only £10? Seriously.
And they bring you a mug of popcorn while you peruse the drinks menu.
I went for a glass of the Fresh Spanish Macabeo, which you can pour at your discretion.
J stuck to water since he was going to be filming a segment for work later that night. Very professional.
In the meantime, we had a bit too much fun playing with our dinnerware…
But then it was time to get serious, because our steak had arrived.
And it certainly did arrive. For £10, this steak does not disappoint in the slightest. We both agreed it was the best we’d ever tried. And for a tenner? Who can argue with that? Kudos, Flat Iron.
The steak comes with a side salad too, which is equally scrumptious.
And of course, we had to order some sides. Their market greens of the day were green beans – which I love. So we ordered up. Oh, and naturally a side of chips…
Also known as fries…
I don’t think I’ve ever eaten so much steak in my life (okay, okay, I let J eat what I couldn’t finish).
If you’re ever in London, I couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough.
The food is amazing, the staff are friendly as ever, and it has a great atmosphere.
Unfortunately though, all good things come to an end.
So we bid adieu and headed back out into rainy London.
xx Kelly
That steak looks delicious. And the prices are crazy good!
Also, I love your eye makeup. 🙂
Thanks Amy! I feel like it’s a daily battle to get the eye makeup just right, so that made my day. Also, the steak really was delicious and for £10 that’s essentially the best deal I’ve spotted in London. X
