I know we’re all meant to be writing a book, learning a new language and cleaning our homes top to bottom. But hear me out, I actually think we need to be taking it easy while we’re all stuck inside.
Sometimes its comfort food and sometimes it is without a doubt, some good old comfort TV.
I know these lists are circulating here there and everywhere right now, but after posting on Instagram about this over the weekend – I wanted to share some of my all time favourite shows that are perfect to rewatch while we’re all stuck inside. And hopefully there are a few you haven’t seen yet that you can get into.
From classics we grew up with to shows that I’m finding comfort in now as an adult… there’s something out there for everybody. And with my Netflix and Amazon Prime accounts fully loaded, I’m good to go. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to have a very binge worthy living room set up too…

8 of the best TV shows to rewatch right now
1. Gilmore Girls
If a TV show was a hug, that’s exactly what Gilmore Girls would be. It’s a warm embrace after spending time apart. I first watched this series after a messy breakup and felt like I’d found the perfect thing to get me through it. Pizza and my favourite mother/daughter duo from Stars Hollow.
I usually rewatch Gilmore Girls every autumn, but times are tough right now and I’m in need of that quick witty dialogue, the ultimate 00s fashion and to continue being Team Jess forever.
2. Seinfeld
I’m currently in America right now and that means that every single morning and night you can find episodes of Seinfeld on. The humour translates through decades. And if there’s one thing that’s going to get us through this whole pandemic? It’s Serenity Now!
3. Arrested Development
A TV show far ahead of its time, the story about a wealthy family who lost everything and are barely keeping it together. The cast is phenomenal with Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Will Arnett, Jessica Walter, Michael Cera pre-Superbad days and my favourite Alia Shawkat. There are a few seasons to binge watch and while one and two are the best… it’s the kind of outrageous family you find yourself sticking with even through the worse seasons.
4. Fraiser
Full disclosure, I never have seen an episode of Cheers in my life. But Dr Fraiser Crane’s spin off series is undoubtedly as popular as the original from which it came. I never used to find it funny but then somehow in my late 20s it all started to click. And yes, it’s hilarious. You can usually watch it in the mornings in the UK on All 4. Highly recommend, 10/10.
5. The Office
Somehow I never finished watching The Office. I enjoyed the first few seasons but then life got in the way and I never kept up to date with it. If there’s one thing to know about me, it’s that I hate watching shows in real time. I LOVE when they’ve finished and I can watch full box sets. It’s the dream. So because I’d watched The Office from the start… I got lost along the way. But now I’m back (because it’s finished) and it’s as hilarious as ever. Watching this has truly helped me forget about the world outside, at least for a little while.
6. Sex & The City
It’s been a long time since I’ve rewatched Sex & The City but I’m going to give it another watch during the next few weeks. I feel like we’ve reached a point where the early season fashion is actually back in style again – so I’m looking for some inspiration. And really, a group of smart women, living, working and having sex lives on their terms is something I’m always a fan of. Girl power all the way.
7. Law & Order / 8. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
I mean, if you’re really looking to fulfill a big time void with plenty to watch, the Law and Order franchise is for you. With 20 seasons of Law and Order and over 21 seasons of SVU – that’s over 935 hours of TV viewing! I dare you to take on the challenge. Make Jack McCoy and Olivia Benson proud.
9. Friends
OK, so I might not be a massive Friends fan but there is about 121 hours of episodes you can enjoy time and time again. And even not being a massive fan doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy an episode every now and then, right? Plus, worth watching just for the ever changing wardrobe of Rachel Green.
And some other favourites that everyone keeps saying I need to include but I haven’t seen any of these TV shows all the way through…
- The O.C. (I think I made it to part of the second season but never finished the show properly)
- Gossip Girl
- One Tree Hill
- Buffy
Which TV shows can you watch over and over again? Let me know in the comments or join the debate over on my Instagram. Either way, I’m definitely game for some new programmes to get into!

I LOVE Gilmore Girls, I’ve watched it so many times! I’m currently re-binging The Vampire Diaries and love it! Danielle || https://www.missdanielle.com
I love this list, so many of my favourites!
I’m actually binge watching Grey’s Anatomy right now, something about this show is keeping me calm at the moment, I know it makes no sense haha. Arrested Developed I’ve not watched since I lived with housemate who were obsessed with it, oh my how hilarious.
One Tree hill and Gilmore Girls always get an annual watch – now I can’t decide which one to watch next…

One Tree Hill and Gilmore Girls (at least the first five seasons) are definitely some cosy TV shows that are currently perfect to watch right now. I also would recommend checking out When Calls the Heart as it is such a wholesome show filled with hope which is cheering me up immensely right now.
