Welcome to my living room tour!
This has been a long requested post and I finally am happy with how (at least half of) our living room) is looking.
And while certain areas still have a little ways to go, I’m overall quite happy to start showing it off like it deserves!
Mind you, I need to share an updated post with totally autumnal aesthetics too. I may end up doing a more updated autumnal home post once I buy the equivalent of a pumpkin patch for my living room.
Also, because so many of my home items have been requested, I will be linking to everything I possibly can within this post.
Full disclosure, I use affiliate links, so if you shop through the links I provide I receive the tiniest bit of commission – it doesn’t change the cost to you whatsoever – but think of it like having your own personal shopper.
So what makes a good living room in my opinion? As a total maximalist – I need to surround myself with things. Blankets, throws, pillows, and plenty of deep rich colours.
Personally, it’s just what makes me feel, happy, cosy and warm.
10 staple pieces you need for a cosy living room
A statement sofa
This was my first “big adult” purchase I ever made.
I fell in love with the idea of having a green velvet sofa and for two years pined over having this beautiful one from Made.com.
Without a doubt this is a purchase that I would make time and time again – seriously someday I would choose to get this exact sofa in the four seater version.

A bright colourful rug
It just drawers the room in perfectly, don’t you think? This one is from Wayfair and luckily wasn’t too on the expensive side.
Mid-century modern furniture
Our coffee table is one of my prized possessions.
A West Elm super discount display furniture sale led us to this beauty!
I also don’t mind going a bit spenny on furniture when I also go thrifting on the other hand. Our TV stand was £10 from a local charity shop – and I love it!
Keeping within the wooden theme…

Rustic Wooden Shelves
Sorry old photo alert – I need to update this! But I found these babies on Etsy and it turns out that they are from a local supplier near where we’re from – how cool is that?

Coffee table decor
I love these wooden baskets from Sunday Living. They come as a set so you have a big one and a little one. This is the large one – and the small one I have on my kitchen table.
And then there’s my favourite checked plate from MacKenzie Childs – the dream!
Autumn Candles
I can’t necessary link these for you but I typically get all my pumpkin candles at a store called Homesense over here in the UK.
You can also find plenty more of my autumn favourites here.
Blankets and pillows galore
Joe will disagree with me on this, but you can never have too many blankets or pillows.
The knot pillow is a recent find from Sunday Living, the tiger from Homesense and then the rest are oldies from H&M.
All the gallery walls
Again, as a maximalist, I like my walls COVERED. I typically grab my prints from Desenio but also some are from Fy! and even IKEA.
Fairy Lights/Christmas Lights
I honestly leave these up year round – I think they truly make a room feel so much cosier and I think it is absolutely possible to achieve this without rooms looking like a pre-teen’s bedroom.

And onto the autumnal decor! I think linking it below is easiest
And of course, more of my autumnal decor…
I hope this post has helped give you the ultimate home decor living room inspiration!
